We are pleased to announce the availability of IROS 2025 Travel Grants to support attendance at IROS 2025 in Hangzhou, China. These grants are made possible through the generous support of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), and the IROS Student and Developing Countries (IROS-SDC) Travel Award Program. The purpose of these awards is to help students, young professionals, and researchers from developing countries defray a portion of their travel expenses in order to attend and present their work at IROS 2025 and to interact with conference attendees. 


Applicants must apply to only one of the travel support programs listed below, depending on their membership affiliation. Submitting multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification.



IEEE RAS Travel Support Program



l Eligibility

  ·  Must be members of IEEE RAS

  ·  Must be student authors (of accepted papers) or authors from developing countries (as determined by the IEEE in IAWP Developing Country Listing: Link.

  ·  Must be presenting work at IROS 2025

l Award Amount

Up to $1500 USD to be spent on hotel, transportation, or the registration fee itself.


l Expected Number of Awards

Up to 51 awards. Sponsored by IEEE RAS.

IEEE IES-SYPA Travel Support Program



l Eligibility

Must be members of the IEEE IES, either Student, Graduate Student, or Young Professional (defined as within 15 years of graduation).


l Award Amount

Up to $1500 USD to be spent on hotel, transportation, or the registration fee itself.


l Expected Number of Awards

Up to 40 awards. Sponsored by IEEE IES.


l Basis for Judging

Priority will be given to applicants who are authors or co-authors of accepted papers.

IROS-SDC Travel Award Program



Applicants who are not eligible for or are not selected by the IEEE RAS or IES Travel Support Program may apply through the IROS-SDC Travel Award program.


l Eligibility

  ·  Must be student authors (of accepted papers) or authors from developing countries (as determined by IEEE in IAWP Developing Country Listing: Link

  ·  Must be student members or members of IEEE RAS/IES, or RSJ, or SICE. (Note: Members of other IEEE Societies are not eligible.


l Award Amount

Partial travel support up to $600 USD or 80% of the applicant's air travel, whichever is smaller.


l Funds

Total annual funding of up to $50K USD. Sponsored by the co-sponsoring societies of IROS.


l Basis for Judging

Factors to be considered are: (a) Priority of funding will be given to eligible applicants who have not received the IROS-SDC travel award in the last three years. (b) Authors are the first author of the accepted papers and will be presenting the papers at the IROS 2025.
